All day long

Hears their woes

Their fears

Detritus of failure.

They come to him

Seeking what?

Understanding?

Sympathy?

Mercy?

Understanding he has.

He's a learned professional.

Sympathy he has too.

He is also human.

But Mercy?

Mercy demands prayer.

And this psychiatrist--
